Frequently Asked Questions

DO YOU SEE PEOPLE IN PERSON?
YES! Flexible Nutrition offers both in-person and telehealth appointments. Our office is located at: 450 N. 159th St. E., Wichita, KS 67230. It is behind Kutter's Vet Clinic. You will see a Flexible Nutrition sign as you turn into the drive & outside the office building. When you come to your appointment, feel free to lounge in the lobby until your practitioner is ready to get you for your appointment.

HOW DO YOU SEE PEOPLE VIA TELEHEALTH?
Through an exclusive online portal called Practice Better. It is a really awesome set up and easy to maneuver. It is completely HIPPA compliant, meaning your information is safe. This online portal is where we will have our appointments (similar to Zoom), where we will share recommendations through protocols, lifestyle recommendations, as well as create tasks/goals for you. If part of your treatment, you have access to food journals and physical activity logs, and can even hook up a compatible device that will sync your sleep and step information as well. You can even download the app and have access to your portal 24/7.

DO YOU SPECIALIZE IN WEIGHT LOSS COUNSELING?

No, we do not. We also do not recommend fad diets or rigid meal plans. The current tools we have for weight loss (eating less, moving more, etc. etc.) may induce short term weight loss, however the majority of individuals will regain this weight (and sometimes more) within 3-5 years along with physical, psychological and emotional consequences. So, while weight concerns may come up in sessions as applicable, weight loss is NOT the focus of treatment nor success. Instead, our focus is on modifiable diet and lifestyle factors, such as; eating & drinking patterns, specific foods & food groups, honoring hunger/fullness cues, physical activity, and many others.

WHAT DOES WORKING WITH YOU LOOK LIKE?
We generally see clients for a minimum of 3 months, and even up to a year or more. This is because behavior change is hard and it takes time, and different amounts of support are needed depending on diagnosis and treatment. For most cases, we begin with you filling out intake forms and food journals prior to our first appointment. Our first appointment (the initial session) will typically be up to 60 - 90 minutes in length. Follow ups are generally 30-45 minutes in length, and scheduled bi-weekly for the first month, and then depending on what we collaborate on may continue to be scheduled bi-weekly or pushed to monthly. We sometimes see clients weekly depending on the need for support. After each appointment, you will receive supporting materials and protocols/recommendations to help you reach your goals.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

We accept Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare, UMR, Medicare & Medicaid (Aetna Better Health, Sunflower and United Healthcare State) insurances. We will help verify your insurance benefits prior to your appointment. For many clients, these plans cover nutrition consultation at 100%! However, this coverage varies based on many factors, some including; plan chosen, referrals may be needed, copay may apply, etc. If you have any questions regarding how to figure out if your plan covers a nutrition consult, do not hesitate to reach out via text at (316) 247-0018 or email at admin@flexiblenutritionllc.com.

HOW CAN I PAY?
We accept Visa (credit and debit cards), MasterCard (credit and debit cards), American Express, Discover, Health Savings/Flex Spending Accounts (HSA, FSA), cash and checks. If paying with a card, you must complete the credit card information in the client portal prior to the first session.
